This can be one of the easiest or one of the craziest days of your year.
Even if you don’t celebrate Christmas, there is no way in the modern world not to be aware of it this month. Most of the retail and Internet advertising has been encouraging you to buy gifts for family, friends, and associates.
If you find yourself in the midst of last minute shopping, gift wrapping, and putting together that erector set your son just had to have (or your husband just had to purchase) do your best to find a few minutes to get off by yourself.
Slip outside if you can and take a deep breath of fresh air. Reflect on the year behind you and the excitement of the next day ahead of you. Silently express your thanks to the Divine.
If you are alone this year, search for the happy memories of holidays past for the peace they can bring to your heart. I firmly believe the people who have been an important part of our lives continue to be with us, whether or not we can reach out and touch them or have a two-way conversation with them.
